we are the ones who make a brighter day so let's start giving.
Sunday, May 9
ah, what a great celebration. Mother's Day. so much love going around, such a warm feeling. I'm so thankful that I am one of those fortunate ones who actually has a mom. a wonderful one too. what do you do when you're so blessed with such amazing people around you? I have close friends who lost their mother at such a tender age, who've seen her suffer yet at the same time did her best fighting through the disease. these people are so damn strong I tell you. every time I picture myself in their shoes, I KNOW I won't be as solid as they are now. I feel so overwhelmed with gratitude. thank you God, please shower Mummy with health, love and happiness. and the other Mummys out there. 'cause they deserve every bit of it :)
to Mummy K who's in Sydney, to Grandma who'll always be so cool and hip, to all my mom's friends who was a mother to me when I wasn't with my own, to all my best friend's mom who was so nice and giving and welcoming, to Kelvin's mom who always inspire me to be a better housewife haha, Happy Mother's Day. thank you for everything ♥
anyway, a month ago we drove up all the way to shah alam to donate bags of rice, clothes (mainly school uniforms) and toiletries to a social welfare organized by a friend of mom's. it is a restaurant, where everything is FREE for the needy. literally free! food, drinks, clothes. they even started giving out tuition classes for young children who can't afford to pay for outside classes. isn't that amazing? there were even young kids helping give out food to the elderly who came to eat. they get stock up from donations - like what we did.
that's us with the volunteers. most of them came from overseas, they're having their break now so they come here to help. the lady sitting beside me is one of the 5 founders of this place.
ah, the goodness in coffee :)
she is so bubbly and nice! she came over to teach mom how to cook nasi briyani and ohmygod it was so good.
hehe so cute!
mom and I ♥
a popular Malaysian singer, Datuk Kathijah Ibrahim was also present that day. my God was she dazzling! her husband is one of the founders too if I'm not mistaken, and his son is one of the volunteers there. so inspiring. I'm wishing to do the same when my semester break is here. this place was really far though, and because we were fetching other people home, the car ride was about three hours. my butt T-T it was definitely a heart-warming experience. that day was also the day I saw this really cool swing, pictures of that next time!
