them little things.

it's been a while since I last sat comfortably in a cafe that's a little far away from home and enjoyed my own company. not because I can't be alone, I love being alone (sometimes I feel like I love being alone a bit too much) but because none of the cafes that I've been to are as cozy as the 'teenage me' would think. my adolescent self would think anywhere with a coffee machine & french pastries laid out on a display case is cool, especially if their interior decor includes antique knick knacks and a 50's vintage feel. something about this cafe though, makes me feel so at home. that, ladies and gentleman, is truly an achievement because nothing feels more like home than home. to me, at least. it doesn't even have that wow factor at first glance but right now I am so comfortable sitting on this couch with my laptop in front of me that I might just fall asleep here. their choice of wall art is even more interesting, initially nothing was eye-catching except for their pain au chocolat (it has colorful sprinkles on top, how malaysianly cute is that?) but as I watch closely at how everything sits here, the best way to describe it is 'randomness at its best' haha. there is that famous beatles poster from their abbey road album hanging on one part of the wall alongside miscellaneous coffee artworks, then you'll also see one random poster of some competition and behind me lies a huge mona lisa painting. randomness at its best, indeed. as I absorb its quirkiness I think of my dad, his creativity is brilliant. he just has it in him when it comes to mixing art with home. next to the mona lisa painting there are stacks of books which you can read for free while having your cuppa here. fiction and nonfiction, travel books, magazines, books for children - oh.em.gee. I've lost my reading mojo for a while now, I actually bought a few thinking I'd be engrossed in them but I wasn't so it's nice that I found a book here by cecilia ahern which I can't seem to put down. finally, a damn good read.
